He can check games after they've happened because it's simply impossible to bet on them. But for 20 years. James bet on everything he could. He lost tens of thousands of dollars and much more.
"My wife has left me we are going to be getting a divorce. I have a three-year-old son. My son had his first day of preschool ever yesterday and I couldn't be there to displace him off," he said.
James finally went to Gamblers Anonymous last December and he's in recovery now.
"I'll never be cured of being a compulsive gambler. All I can do is clutch the disease," explained James.
"The go you get from being in action is what is our high," he said of the addiction. "Money to compulsive gamblers is only the tool as to arrive that high. It's no different than cocaine to the drug abuser or alcohol to the alcoholic."
"Right now if all you've lost is money then alter now is when you should be getting help because I've lost my family respect of friends my reputation," he offered.
